Hillsborough County authorities are in search of a man they say is responsible for a New Year’s Eve murder.
Noting the man is to be considered armed and dangerous, deputies obtained an arrest warrant for a 26-year-old man allegedly responsible for the shooting death of a 24-year-old man. The victim was discovered on December 31 in an Infiniti parked in a lot owned by a repair shop still alive but grievously wounded.
Witnesses say they observed the suspect drive the car into the lot and abandon it on foot. They say they hailed a passing Florida Highway Patrol unit and pointed the troopers in the direction of the abandoned car and the man dying within it.
Investigators believe the victim was wounded while inside the vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to the wounds.
The suspect remains at large as of the time of this writing. Members of the public are encouraged to alert authorities if they spot him, but strongly caution people from approaching the suspect.
