Morning Shooting Leads to Afternoon Arrest of Pinellas Park Man on Felony Drug Charges
A shooting early in the day in St. Petersburg last Saturday led to an arrest on felony drug charges later that day.
St. Petersburg Police responded to a report of gunfire at a residence near 22nd Avenue N. and 49th Street N. at a quarter past four on the morning of February 4. Authorities say that while officers were responding to that call, Ramon Clarence Green dropped off Iyana Worrils at St. Petersburg General Hospital 2 ½ miles away with a gunshot wound. Officers say that the 35-year-old Green arrived back to the residence while they were there, and officers questioned him upon his arrival.
Officers obtained a search warrant later in the day for the residence. They indicate that they discovered 4.3 ounces of cocaine, fourteen pounds of cannabis, and roughly three hundred pills of MDMA when they executed the warrant at the residence. Authorities estimate the value of the drugs allegedly found at the residence to be in the neighborhood of $30,000.
Although listing a Pinellas Park address as his residence, police say that utility bills link Green to the house in question. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail just after ten o’clock Saturday evening on charges of trafficking cocaine and possession of cannabis with intent to sell. Green posted a $55,000 bond and was released just after two o’clock the next morning. He was re-arrested on Friday afternoon and is currently in jail on a courtesy hold for United States Marshals.
