A Tampa man was arrested last week and is accused by authorities of fatally stabbing his father last month.

Eighteen-year-old Ismael Abdirashid Ali was apprehended on February 26 on suspicion of killing his father ten days earlier. Police say his father, 50-year-old Abdirashid Ali, was stabbed to death at his Temple Crest apartment on February 16.

Investigators are tight-lipped as to their reasoning for suspecting the younger Ali in the homicide, simply citing evidence within the apartment as tending to implicate him in his father’s murder.

Upon making their determination, police did not need to look far to find Ali, as he was arrested two days after his father’s death on unrelated charges.

Ali is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of resisting an officer without violence, petty theft, and first-degree murder. His bond has been set at $750,750.
