Tampa Man Charged with Murder After Allegedly Shooting Teen in Argument About a Woman
Hillsborough Sheriff’s deputies say an argument ended in a fatal shooting last Thursday, and county authorities have charged the surviving party of murder as a result.
According to deputies, 17-year-old Tamichael Broadnax and 20-year-old Reynaldo Charles Hernandez became engaged in a verbal altercation at around eleven o’clock that evening in the parking lot of a Town ‘N Country apartment complex.
Although authorities released few other details, they say that Hernandez eventually produced a firearm and shot Broadnax. Paramedics were dispatched and transported Broadnax to St. Joseph’s Hospital, but their efforts could not save him. His wounds proved fatal, and he expired at the hospital.
HCSO investigators indicated in a related social media post that this incident is not believed to be related to the murders occurring in Seminole Heights.
Deputies say they tracked Hernandez down shortly thereafter and arrested him without incident. He is currently being held at the Hillsborough County Jail in lieu of a $211,500 bond. Hernandez is charged with one count each of aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, second-degree murder with a firearm, and criminal mischief of $1,000 or more.
