Pinellas Brothers Turn Themselves Over to Police to Face Charges for Shooting Cousin

On Behalf of | Oct 20, 2017 | Uncategorized

Two brothers who Pinellas County authorities say shot and critically wounded their cousin turned themselves over to police early last week to face charges of second-degree murder.

Christopher J. Henson, 30, and Divante Montreal Henderson, 25, are accused by county authorities of becoming embroiled in an argument with their cousin Taoufik Borji, 38, one evening in late September last year. According to deputies, Divante and Borji had a verbal altercation regarding the latter’s relationship with the former’s girlfriend earlier that morning at Borji’s home in Badger Handcock Acres.

Investigators say the Henderson brothers returned to the home that evening and Divante shot Borji several times. The pair then returned to their vehicle and fled, while Borji was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with critical injuries. Police say Borji is still there and listed as being in serious condition.

Both brothers turned themselves in last Monday and were booked into the Pinellas County Jail that afternoon. Christopher faces a single charge of principal attempted second-degree murder and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. Divante is charged with attempted second-degree murder and is currently being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond. Both men have prior arrests for drug possession, while Christopher has been arrested previously on suspicion of battery and disorderly conduct.
