A Tampa man who allegedly gunned down another individual in the street last week was apprehended after a cooperative effort between the Tampa Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to investigators, Sergio Rashad Green and Glennis Leon Mays became embroiled in an argument last Wednesday at dusk. Though authorities did not specify the nature of the argument the duo were arguing about, what is absolutely clear is that one party did not survive the argument.

Per investigators, Mays produced a firearm and shot Green. The 27-year-old Green was attended to by emergency personnel, but the wound was too severe. He expired at a local hospital shortly afterward.

Meanwhile, police say Mays did not remain at the scene, choosing to flee instead. His whereabouts were not known for a time, but, thanks to the help of the U.S. Marshals, Mays was located at a local chain motel 8 miles from scene the next evening.

The 24-year-old Mays was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on a count of second-degree felony murder and possession of cocaine with intent to sell. He is currently being held without bond.
