Hillsborough County deputies say a drug deal gone bad led to murder, alleging a 21-year-old Brandon man to be the party who pulled the trigger.
An alleged burglary that culminated in the death of a Tampa man's accomplice in the undertaking has resulted in the laying of felony murder charges against him.
Valrico resident Michelle Guy was sentenced this week to 48 months in federal prison for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud. Her husband and co-defendant Kevin Guy was sentenced last month to 37 months in prison for his involvement in the same fraud. Each pleaded guilty earlier this year to the charges.
We reported here last month that Brandon resident Ralph Wald was on trial for the murder of Walter Conley. Conley was an on-again/off-again lover of Wald's wife who was shot and killed in Wald's wife after Wald discovered the two having sex. Wald maintained that he believed Conley was raping his wife.
Seventy-one year old Ralph Wald, a retired Army colonel, retired lawyer and Vietnam veteran, is on trial this week in Tampa for the March 10 killing of Walter Lee Conley, 32. Wald is charged with second-degree murder for shooting Conley three times in the living room of Wald's Brandon home.
A federal court judge in Tampa sentenced Cristie Fay Bottorff and Jerry Alan Bottorff of Brandon this week to three concurrent terms of life in federal prison for the contract murder of Cristie Bottorff's former husband, Thomas Lee Sehorne, of Lithia, Florida. The court also entered a money judgment in the amount of $1,043,517.99 against each defendant. This was the amount collected against Sehorne's life insurance policies paid after his death in 2007.
