Port Richey Brothers Facing Felony Drug, Firearm, And Money Laundering Charges For Allegedly Trafficking In Illegal Drugs

Two Port Richey brothers are facing a litany of felony charges after Pasco County deputies say they operated a significant drug-trafficking operation.

The men, one 33 years old and the other four years his junior, were the subject of a yearlong investigation by deputies that is part of a larger ongoing crackdown on opioid suppliers in the area. They gave few details due to the involvement of several undercover officers, but paperwork filed in the case revealed that the pair were under constant surveillance for a significant time.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, officers proceeded to the residence, where they say they found a large amount of drugs in the younger brother's home. Deputies say the man claimed his occupation was that of a handyman, but they said he only made a few hundred dollars as such over the past few months. That didn't explain the fact that he put tens of thousands of dollars in the bank over the prior three years.

A search of the older brother's home was equally lucrative, per deputies. They say they discovered hydromorphone, Suboxone, oxycodone, and heroin on the premises, as well as firearms the convicted felon was prohibited from owning.

Both men were booked into the Pasco County Jail last week. The younger brother faces three counts of money laundering, and one count each of trafficking hydromorphone, conspiracy to traffic hydromorphone, trafficking oxycodone, sale and possession of heroin, and possession of fentanyl. He continues to be held pending bond.

The elder brother is charged with felony possession of firearms, felony possession of ammunition, trafficking hydromorphone, trafficking hydrocodone, trafficking oxycodone, possession of heroin, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released after posting bond.
