A Sanford man arrested in Pinellas County has been charged with murder in relation to the death of a woman in DeBary.

Deputies were dispatched to the home of Lisa Bresie last Sunday afternoon on a welfare check. Once inside, deputies say they discovered the 51-year-old woman’s body in a pool of blood. According to the responding officers, Bresie’s body sustained several stab wounds.

Investigators soon focused their attention on Anton Lamar Sanders after they say they discovered his fingerprint within the home. The 45-year-old Sanford man was Bresie’s ex-boyfriend, according to police.

The search for Sanders began in Pinellas County, as authorities there reported locating his vehicle there. He was subsequently located last Tuesday by FHP troopers responding to the report of an impaired individual in apparent distress alongside I-275. According to the troopers who responded to the call, Sanders was in possession of both Bresie’s vehicle and keys. He allegedly also bore her blood on his person and in the vehicle within which he was found.

Despite attempting to jump into the water below, Sanders was apprehended and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. He was then transported to the Volusia County Jail and is currently being held without bond on one count of first-degree murder.
