A St. Petersburg man is dead and a Tampa man is facing a charge of DUI manslaughter after a collision last Sunday afternoon in Pinellas Park.

According to police, Anthony Robert Davis was driving a blue Ford Mustang on Gandy Boulevard at Grand Avenue at around 4:40 that afternoon when, upon proceeding through the intersection after the traffic signal turned green when he attempted a lane change. Police say he turned left against a red left-turn signal at the intersection, crossing in front of a late-model black Mustang convertible driven by Roshell Rivas and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by Lawrence Michael Wagner. The black Mustang and the motorcycle were unable to avoid Davis' blue Mustang, and both vehicles struck it in the passenger-side door.

Police say the 46-year-old Wagner was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he expired.

Rivas and a passenger were not taken to the hospital. They face no charges in relation to this incident.

Officers responding to the accident say the 25-year-old Davis seemed impaired. They conducted a DUI investigation, ultimately opting to arrest him. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail early Monday morning on charges of DUI with personal injury or damage to personal property and DUI manslaughter. He posted a $10,500 surety bond and was released later that morning.
