Randall Fowler of Holiday, Florida in Pasco County, faces a DUI charge after crashing his pickup truck into a house in Clearwater. He was caught by neighbors as he tried to run away, according to police.
Law enforcement said Fowler lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet pickup, driving through a wall and into the living room of a house at 2186 Alemanda Drive in Clearwater. Fowler then allegedly backed the truck out of the house and attempted to flee. After neighbors arrived and tried to detain him, he tried to run away.
Other neighbors caught and detained him at the end of the block until officers arrived, according to the police report.
The crash left a 10-by-8-foot hole in the house that Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews later boarded up pending repair.
Fowler was charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Both charges are misdemeanors. If Fowler has no previous DUI convictions, he faces up to six months in jail if convicted.
